Hidden in ‘My Music,’ folders and a sub-folder of a sub-folder is my secret ‘Christmas Jingles.’ One of my all time favorite tunes is ‘(Christmas) Don’t Be Late,’ by the Chipmunks. I actually almost know the lyrics by heart and I love to sing a long to this silly hoola hoop song.
Every year, I also plan out my December theme, decorate my 7-inch plastic Christmas tree that’s colored in gold, and I do gifts shopping. This year is just a little different, for the first time in a long time, I didn’t care about the Christmas tree or the gift shopping. I have no idea where I’ll be during Christmas or New Year but I did do something extraordinary to wrap up the year of 2009.
I took 2 hours a day and many hours during the weekends to actually achieve one of my goals, to learn diving and actually dive. After all the lessons, carrying tanks, and going through shaky boat rides, puking in the sea (literally), I made it as an Open Water Diver.
To celebrate love, life, and all the little imperfections around us, my friends and I attended our first ZoukOut party in Singapore. I finally saw Armin Van Buuren live during the sunrise, the feeling? It’s unexplainable, almost like I was living my dream life except my dream life is actually my life.
Time flies, it really does, you never know it … you wake up one morning in late January, next thing you know, you’re in the middle of December! Appreciate little things in life, Christmas tree is just an extra bonus, Christmas songs are just like icing on the cake, and no gifts is better than the gift you give to yourself.
