Bali, the Island of Gods, Morning of the World, Island of Paradise, is one mesmerizing trip of my life, not only did I ticked my list of things to do before I die but I also completed off the list activities. Here I am back in the city of Bangkok, wondering why I feel like a part of me is still there somewhere in the magical Island. Maybe it’s the fact that I miss waking up to the sound of the ocean or watching the blue sky turns orange, purple, pink during sunset…

As soon as I stepped out of the plane I realized that the airport reminds me of how an airport in Bangkok used to be. Yes, nothing fancy, it’s actually very simple and I just love it. Surrounding the city is trees, temples, and gods pretty much at every corner yet at the same time there’s a blend of the western culture or should we say, people.
Anantara Seminyak, Bali complete our trip, actually I must say that it is the major role in our trip. We heard soft sound of Cafe Del Mar playing as soon as we walked in the room and the stunning view of the Indian ocean that can never be missed. We experienced barefoot luxury in our own terrazzo Jacuzzi sipping a glass of ice cold champagne on Friday afternoon.
Fifteen minutes away from our hotel is Double Six, famous for its parties and extreme sport; bungee jump. I couldn’t help but to be excited about my first official jump in this tropical island.

“I saw the four steps to a successful bungee jump, didn’t read it. What are they?” I asked the instructor while he was tying me with a rope.
“There are no steps really,” he said
“I guess I just have to look at the horizon …” I continued
“The only step is to just do it,” and he counted from five to one ..
Standing on the platform I spread my arms and just look out at the horizon, thinking about nothing but how beautiful the sea is. As soon as he counted to one, I took a leap of faith and slowly let my self fall freely. Although I was spinning around in the air, I could still see the whole view surrounding me. Being a T type personality (thrill seeker) I enjoyed every minute of it and had experienced a new kind of freedom. Oh well, you don’t know how it feels until you jump the jump that’s all I can say.
When I landed on land my jet lagged disease just disappeared, I couldn’t wait for the nightlife in Bali to begin. Thanks to the Know-it-All Surfer man, we were introduced to the hottest spots in Bali from Ku De Ta Bar to the Living Room and even some places in Kuta beach.

From the shore we took a journey to the sea to visit our favorite mammals, dolphin. Debating between which dolphin we should play with we decided that the boast to be handsome one among all dolphins, Eric, would be a good entertainment. McDolphin, I call him is in deed entertaining and he surely knows how to get under my skin. His acts included a non-stop blow-my-nose-at-Sabina to I-kissed-you-with-my-mouth-open among many others. Well I sided myself up with a thought that he must have a big crush on me since he teases me nonstop and seems to love it!
I do hope that when I return to Bali, my McDolphin would still remember me and my dolphin tattoo. Along the trip I also visited the holy temple, Tannah Lot where we watched the beautiful sun set over the sea with Agung, our glorious tour guide whom I must say is the most reliable, informational, and helpful to us, Bali newbies.
Sitting at the terrace on my suite I gaze out at the stars thinking there’s something magical about this island. The sound of the ocean waves singing, the sea breeze blowing our hair, the glistening black sand, and morning sunshine gives us a reason to wake up in the morning for an unexpected adventure. The best part is knowing that you are sharing the memories with those that matters to you.
Here’s the song that my other half picked and played as our song for Bali. Life is beautiful in deed.
Anantara completed half of my trip…and you completed the other half
even though we had to go through a marriage counseling session.. hehehe
“If it’s only for the weekend we could fly out of the country… Do you wanna see the stars shine? We should fly out of the country”
