Third time is definitely a charm when Hed Kandi came back to Q Bar Bangkok, Sukhumvit 11 on Friday 26th, 2008, and they came in three! From DJ Andrew Daniels the resident DJ to Christopher ‘Peyton’ and the up and rising saxophonist Louise Batey or lovely Lady Victoria. Watch a clip here.
It’s not a surprise that by 11pm Q Bar was packed with the Kandi wooers, I was way at the back on the first floor snooping around the scene, mingling with the neighbors around my table, waiting for Andy to step up and play his magic. Let’s just say that he did his magic alright, especially with Lady V by his side with her saxophone, now that surely blow our minds away! We were stunned by her performance with Andy D., I notice people screaming for the lady in black, squeezing themselves through the crowd just to get near her.
I have never seen a saxophone combined with house beats and live vocalist in Bangkok, as far as I remember that is, and I have never seen the crowd singing along with the songs this loud before, especially to the house beats but the never seen has been seen! While Peyton and Lady Victoria had a quick break, I couldn’t help but to introduce myself to Miss V. and got a couple of pictures to adore, trust me as good as she is with the sax, she was that with the people!
One of my friend and I took this opportunity to surprise my sister with cupcakes, where I happened to break the number ’2′ candle, but the surprise went on.
After the whole we smudge our faces with cream and icing, we came down at just the right time, my favorite song ‘Fade’ was playing and Victoria was amazing! Everybody was singing along to the words, “Never fadee from my mind yeah yeah.” I can still remember screaming to Victoria that ‘We love you!’
Everybody was singing along to the words, “Never fadee from my mind yeah yeah.” I can still remember screaming to Victoria that ‘We love you!’ That song made my night, actually the whole night was the night! Definitely one of the best Hed Kandi parties hosted in Bangkok.
I guess we will have to wait and see what Q Bar will bring to us next.
